It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to Lisbon for the 1^st Iberian Corrosion Congress – IBERCorr’27, which will take place from 26 to 28  April 2027.

As the host country, Portugal is honoured to receive the Iberian corrosion community, providing a setting that reflects both our shared heritage and the strong scientific and industrial collaboration between Portugal and Spain. Lisbon offers a unique combination of history, culture, and innovation, creating an ideal environment for knowledge exchange and the development of new partnerships.

IBERCorr 2027 aims to bring together researchers, engineers, and industry professionals from across the Iberian Peninsula, covering a broad range of topics in the field of corrosion and materials protection. We strongly encourage all participants to contribute to the scientific programme by sharing their latest work with the wider community.

In order to promote the involvement of younger generations, the congress will actively encourage the participation of early-career researchers, notably through the awarding of a Young Researcher Prize, recognising emerging scientific excellence. A technical photography competition will also be organised, with the aim of highlighting the visual, experimental, and applied dimensions of corrosion and materials protection.

The congress will be held at the Pavilhão de Portugal, an iconic venue located along the waterfront in Parque das Nações, within close proximity to the city’s main areas.

In addition to the scientific programme, we hope you will take the opportunity to experience the vibrant atmosphere of Lisbon, exploring its rich historical and cultural heritage, as well as its deep connection to the maritime environment — a context particularly relevant to many of the corrosion challenges we face.
